My family and I moved to Mililani Town in 1989 from Englewood, Colorado.
We found the perfect home, where our three children could grow and play in a
safe, nurturing environment.
Mililani's neighborhood parks are filled with children of all ages and its
recreation centers are gathering places for families for swimming, classes and
community events. The three shopping areas of Mililani Town give residents a
choice of grocery stores and specialty shopping. We joked when Mililani got a
Wal-Mart that we would never have to leave town to go anywhere else -- we had it
all.
We've made many friends over the years, as our children joined soccer, football,
Boy Scouts and more. Mililani is a real "pot luck" community!
Residents pay quarterly fees to the Mililani Town Association, which are used to
keep common areas pristine. Everyone has a common interest in keeping Mililani
the best that it can be. Many of us have worked very hard to improve our local
public schools, but still have a way to go to "undo"
multi-track scheduling at the middle school, which throws off many family
schedules. There are solutions and this community will eventually succeed in
solving this problem.
All in all, I'm sure our children, no matter where they go in life, will always
come back to visit their childhood home with the fond memories of growing up in
this "All American City."
