Considered one of Oahu's premier neighborhoods. Click here for Quick Facts.

Hawaii Kai, located to the east of Diamond Head, was the dream of internationally famous industrialist, shipbuilder and real estate tycoon Henry J. Kaiser. He started developing this East Honolulu community in the early 1960's as a multi-use, recreation-oriented community.
Today Hawaii Kai is home to more than 28,000 residents living in more than 10,000 single-family detached homes, low, medium and high-rise condominiums and up-scale retirement apartments.
Meet some of Hawaii Kai's residents!

Land ownership is mixed Fee Simple or Leasehold. Along with Kahala, some of the most desirable homes on Oahu can be found here. Koko Kai, Triangle and Portlock at the base of Koko Head crater have multi-million dollar homes that feature stunning views of Maunalua Bay and Diamond Head and some have beach fronts. There are homes and condominiums that surround the 300 acre marina and many have boat docks for the boating enthusiast. Many residents belong to rowing clubs and their canoes can be seen in the marina and on Maunalua Bay, especially in the afternoon. Other Hawaii Kai neighborhoods such as Mariners Ridge and Kamehame have homes with views of not only Maunalua Bay but neighbor islands as well! On a clear day you can see Moloka'i, Lana'i and Maui to the east across the normally windy Kaiwi Channel. We are not alone!
In addition to the boating, jet skiing, scuba diving, para-sailing, sailing and canoeing there are fishing boats that venture out in search of ulua and skipjack. The bay is surrounded by reefs and the water is shallow but there is some fishing from shore while on the windward side there's Sandy Beach for surfing, body surfing, fishing and just hanging out at the beach. The east slope of Koko Crater even features an equestrian center and a shooting range.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is a popular tourist as well as local destination. "Witches Brew" and Toilet Bowl" guard the entrance to this wildlife attraction. Further up the road is Halona Point and Halona Blowhole then the road drops down to Sandy Beach.
Hawaii Kai has an Executive and Championship Golf Course. The course is surrounded by the gated community of Queens Gate and homes in Kalama Valley.
Hawaii Kai is home to some wonderful restaurants such as Roy's and Assaggio and we have Costco, Longs, Safeway, Foodland, Starbucks, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Subway to name the large franchises along with many local businesses like Zippy's. It's truly a community with a community feel.
