Walt earned his real estate license in 1981 and has worked as a full time agent ever since. He has sold over 670 properties and was featured in Broker-Agent Magazine, a testimonial to his professionalism by his peers. He has worked with builders and banks as well as first time buyers, sellers and investors.

In "down markets" he has successfully helped sellers when their loans exceeded the fair market value of their homes by negotiating "short-sales" and preserving the seller's credit and dignity. For five years, Walt was the listing agent for 14 lenders for their REOs (foreclosure properties). Walt has earned many national designations and certifications: ABR ,Accredited Buyer Representative; CIPS, Certified International Property Specialist;  CRB, Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager; CRS, Certified Residential Specialist, (achieved by less than 4% of all licensees nationwide); GRI, Graduate Realtor Institute; SRES, Seniors Real Estate Specialist, e-PRO to enhance his online marketing skills; TRC to learn the specialized skills in working with referrals from the International marketplace; RSPS, Resort & Second Property Specialist certification to work more effectively with one of the largest segments of today's market; RCC, Residential Construction Certified and CHNS, Certified New Home Specialist certifications to increase his knowledge of new home construction and marketing. Walt has recently earned the CDPE, Certified Distressed Property Expert designation to assist homeowners facing declining values and hardships, the PMN designation from the Women's Council of REALTORS^(R) and the SFR, Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource Certification. He is currently working to earn the coveted CCIM designation.

Walt has served as a Director on the Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board as Treasurer and Communications Director and as a Director and Treasurer for The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii. He currently serves on the Hawaii Real Estate Commission and the Board of Directors of Smart Business Hawaii.

Walt was nominated and confirmed to the Hawaii Real Estate Commission starting in July 2009.

Walt is a Vietnam veteran, a licensed commercial pilot and an avid fly-fisherman.

Arla has been licensed since 1984 and her career has covered a wide variety of jobs in the real estate field: appraiser's assistant, escrow officer for residential and loan transactions and title insurance sales manager for 5 prominent Northern California counties. Arla was associated with Contempo Realty's Top Residential Listing and Sales Team (Top 1% Nationwide sales volume) in Northern California and also with Prudential Dunn Realty, a residential and commercial firm in San Diego before moving to Oahu. Acting as an escrow officer, lender and real estate agent, Arla has closed over 1000 transactions. Arla has earned the ABR, Accredited Buyer Representative, CRS, Certified Residential Specialist, achieved by less than 4% of all licensees nationwide, GRI, Graduate Realtor Institute, CIPS, Certified International Property Specialist, and the SRES, Seniors Real Estate Specialist designations plus the e-PRO, RSPS, TRC certifications! Arla recently earned the PMN designation from the Women's Council of REALTORS^(R) and the SFR, Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource Certification.

Arla is active in community service! She has served as a Director on the Santa Clara County Chapter of Hope, helping children succeed; a Director of the Southern California Chapter of Dollars For Scholars, promoting secondary education for children at all levels and together with Walt, funded a $1000 annual scholarship for post secondary education. She currently serves as a Director on the board of Small Business Hawaii Education Foundation.
